Hedemora Chickens are one of the oldest and rarest landrace chicken breeds in the world, originating in Sweden. Known for their exceptional cold hardiness, Hedemoras evolved naturally to survive harsh Nordic winters with minimal human intervention. They are highly variable in appearance, coming in a range of colors and patterns, wooly or standard feathering, feathered and non-feathered leg shanks. Hedemoras are valued for their strong foraging ability, disease resistance, and calm but alert temperament. Hens lay small to medium cream-colored eggs and are reliable layers even in cold weather.
